I mixed a years (or more) compost into one raised bed, which I intended to sow corn seeds. The seedlings that appeared seemed to me to be Gill's GOlden Pippen, which is our favorite winter squash, a perfect substitute for a larger acorn squash. I didn't remember composting any other types of squash, so I must have been mistaken - see the following!

A few squash grew into this , which is what I expected.

Many grew up to look liked these. I haven't been able to find a photo that identifies the type of squash! Possibly some type of yellow scallop variety.
