This is an old revision of the document!

"Pseudo soils"

Seed starting mix

“Soil-less” light-weight growing medium that excludes these:

  • Fertilizer which may cause burning or “???” stunting of seeds
  • Clay which can hold too much moisture
  • Organic elements, which can separate sees from the medium
  • Fungi or bacteria, which may kill or stunt seedling

Potting soil

Used to provide nourishment for growing seedlings once they are ready for the real world. Potting soil contains some earth soil, as well as compost or manure peat moss or vermiculite.

TAGRO products

Tagro (https://tagro.com/products-pricing/) products created and marketed by the City of Tacoma. TAGRO products are made from a blend of pasteurized wastewater byproducts called biosolids and other weed-free gardening components.
