Propagation room
Formerly little more than a tool storage area, it now houses our propagation equipment: lights, heating mats, potting area and supplies

Surviving transplants
These transplants from Kate Halstead's seeding workshop have survived though they look a bit spindly.

Handy sieve
I used this sieve to break up clumps of seeding mix for the seeding flats and also when I mix the potting soil (adding COF and worm castings).

Each propagation station can handle up to four trays of containers.

Heat mats
While seeds are germinating no light is necessary (except as extra heat might be needed on cool nights) and I keep covers on the flats to retain moisture,

Propagation layout
Three heat mats allow two different heat settings (with the two temperature controllers), one for most plants and one for heat-loving plants.
