Tilling the soil
The soil was waterlogged and packed so I used the root-tiller. The tilled area was to server the hoop house and a corn patch just south of it.

Preparing soil inside
After I had walked all over the ground building the hoop house, I needed to loose the soil so I could fertilize, add compost and transplant tomatoes.

Scissor door latches
I thought for days how to make a hook to hold the scissor doors open. The idea came from the wire hanger I had for a hanging basket.

Transplanting done
Finally, on June 21, I finished transplanting 9 pepper plants (Poblano, Anaheim and California Wonder) and 35 tomatoes.

June 30, cover up!
At the end of June it was getting quite warm in the hoop house during the day, so I raised the sides to allow more airflow.

July 22, 2014
Nearing the end of July the plants were reaching for the sky. By the end of the season they had truly "occupied" the entire space.
