+Regarding raised beds in general, I have five separate beds here at home. I don’t notice that they require more frequent watering, generally, than my Fall City garden. But that’s not enough information for an informed opinion. Each is different, receives different amounts of rainfall and has different crops.

So I imported soil for these beds, amending it massively over the years with manure, compost, leaves and wood shavings. (These were not good choices but I was just getting started with serious gardening.
+They are very loose and drain well, but still they all retain moisture well. Although each developed in its own time frame with different inputs, they appear to behave similarly regarding moisture retention.
