All the plants are seeing the sun now - all the row cover has been removed. Germination for direct-seeded varieties (corn, cucumber and Farthest North melons) was quite unsuccessful. However germination of direct-seeded Sunburst Scallop yellow summer squash was better, hidden under row cover for several weeks. Crazy, but some of the Oregon Delicious melon plants that were apparently killed by bugs - actually stripped of all leaves - are putting out new leaves! Further examination suggests there was also a rabbit involved!
